Making Positive Change in Life
So you want to make a positive change in your life, but you’re getting frustrated with the speed of change and how long it is taking or you may just be hoping and praying for things to happen.
Change is good, but is often very difficult and uncomfortable for many people. Quite often people want to make change in their life but they don’t make any change! Huh? What does that mean?
Firstly we need to understand cause and effect. If we want to see changes in our results and life, then we have to change what we put in. In doesn’t necessarily mean you need more will power or to work harder. No usually it is the opposite.
If you want to be more positive in your life, you cannot hang with negative people, sit and gossip and judge others. No you have to change your thoughts, your company, the words you speak and your actions. You don’t go sit in those environments and try use your will power to stop you.
If you want to lose weight you can’t go out to dinner all the time, have junk food in your fridge and cupboard and hope you don’t touch it. No you take action. You clear out the cupboards and fridge – you replace it with healthy options and go on an exercise regime.
In some cases you need to take Massive action in order to change for example, leaving an abusive relationship, stopping drug, alcohol and spending addictions or losing weight.
Other times you might have to take small steps, which over time will add up to massive change over the long run. For example, getting out of debt, changing careers, finding more peace in your life.
The key takeaway is that you cannot carry on doing the same thing (cause) and expect a different result (effect). You need to change direction as best as you can. You either need to adjust your life’s steering wheel a little bit or turn it completely in a different direction.
Whatever needs to be done. Make that change until the new behaviors become a habit and change becomes permanent.
