5 Ways to Get Into Your Flow
What is flow and why do we need it?
I see flow as that state of being in which we feel good about what we are doing. We feel aligned with life and our purpose. Everything seems to be going well, we’re excited, we’re feeling passionate and life just feels good. You know the feeling right?
The problem is that as we get older it seems that we are rarely in that state of flow. Especially when it comes to work and experiencing life. As our commitments in life grow, we seem to lose that feeling — it becomes a fleeting moment. My goal here is to help you find that flow again and stay in it as long as possible…
Here we go with 5 Ways to Get Into Your Flow:
1. Ignore The Opinions of Others
I don’t let anyone’s insecurities, emotions, or opinions bother me. I know that if I am happy, that’s all that matters to me ~ Demi Lovato
The best thing you can do is to live life on your terms and create the life that you want. When we follow the opinions of others or pursue their vision of our life, then we get out of flow…
Take an honest look at your life right now. Are you living on your terms or on someones else’s?
2. Have Courage
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. ~ Winston Churchill
The courage I am talking about here is the courage required to take an honest look at yourself, the courage to acknowledge that change is required and the courage to actually take action.
Life and change is not always easy and it is not always easy looking within, but it is worth it. That is where the growth takes place, that is where the magic happens.
The courage is within you…it’s time to bring it out. The more we use it, the more confident we feel and the more we will feel like we are in flow…
3. Trust Yourself
As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
The sooner you learn to trust yourself the better. Learn to trust your gut, that initial inclination that you have…before your mind kicks in and tries to solve the puzzle.
If you don’t trust in yourself or believe in yourself then who will?
4. Feed It
Immerse yourself in the energy of what you desire. ~ Hiro Boga
We have to keep feeding that desire within us. The things that we want won’t just magically appear from the night sky…that inner desire, confidence and motivation won’t just come from no where.
Within each of us is a spark for what we truly desire…It is there, ready to be ignited. Your job is to continuously add fuel to the inner spark to fuel your desire and keep you moving forward in the direction of your dreams.
When we are moving closer and closer towards our dreams, we access the flow…
5. Keep It Front & Center
You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. ~ Mark Twain
When you decide what you want and you feed your desire, you have to keep what you want front and center…It has to be at the forefront of your mind.
The best way to do this is to continuously focus on your desires and keep your goals in front of you. Think about them all day, act on them all day, work on them every day…until they become your reality.
Take these 5 steps and incorporate them into your life and you will move into flow more often than not.
