How to Create Happiness in Your Life by Discovering Your Purpose

As a life coach, one of the most difficult questions I often get asked is how to create happiness in your life? The answer is not easy, because we all have different things that make us tick and make us happy. Some people may love the beach and others cannot stand it. Some may like being in garden and others may find that boring….

So the easiest way that I answer this question is by telling my own life story.

I used to have a stable and high-paying job at a huge company, which I enjoyed only in the beginning. Eventually, my job became so physically and emotionally draining. It made me so exhausted that I felt like I already forgot how to enjoy my life.  I dreaded my daily commute and the hours I spent at my desk were the worst part of my life!

When I finally decided to listen to the voice inside me, I started to realize that I wasn’t doing what I love. I had no idea what my passion was, and so my life had no meaning at all. All I know is that I wanted to be out.  I wanted Freedom

It was then that I made up my mind to discover my life’s purpose.

Now, I can say that I’m happy with my life coaching business not because I can make money from it, but because this is what I’ve always wanted to do – to help people live a life or purpose and passion, live a life that will create their legacy and live a life with a huge vision and helping them with goal setting for life.

So, now you ask what you can do to discover your purpose in life. Well, this is a very important step towards finding your happiness in life because when we align ourselves with our purpose we feel content, at peace, at ease, excited, we feel we have meaning to our life.

So it’s my pleasure to share with you how I did it.

  1. Take it slow.

When you slow down a bit, you will be able to quiet the outside voices, and listen to your inner voice. There are several ways you can slow down, such as doing yoga, going for a walk regularly, or meditating and other things you enjoy.  Place yourself in the environment that you enjoy the most and do it often. These moments are great opportunities for you to discover the answers you’ve been searching for.

  1. Love your uniqueness.

You are in this world for a special reason, and that’s why you have the skills, talents, wisdom, and strengths that only you have. Before you discover your purpose in life, it’s important that you discover who you are and begin to love yourself for everything you are. No matter how small or unimportant you think you are, you need to realize that you have a role and purpose to serve here. BELIEVE IT!

  1. Gain confidence.

If you keep telling yourself that you can’t, you’ll never really be able to do what you want. Yes, there is always a possibility that you will fail, but so what? Everyone experiences failures at some point because that’s part of life! You need to believe that you can do everything so you can be more confident about yourself.  This takes time, so be patient, be persistent and work on creating new empowering beliefs about yourself everyday.  Start with positive affirmations and mantras every single day.

  1. Focus on what makes you happy.

Yes, life is full of challenges, obstacles, and difficulties. If you want to appreciate life, you have to look at what’s good in your life. What makes you smile? What do you love doing? Remember where Focus Goes Energy Flow…so focus on gratitude and what you want, not your problems.

  1. Overcome your fears.

For you to discover your purpose in life, you must push beyond your fears. It is only when you free yourself from your fears and inhibitions that you will start to recognize what is holding you back and how you can begin to move forward.  How do you push beyond your fears?  You face them and go right through them.  That is the only way.  I know we are dealing with powerful emotions, but it is just energy in your body.  Let that discomfort be your teacher.

THE BONUS TIP: Be Patient.

Discovering your life purpose is a journey and so you need to be patient and enjoy the journey of discovery.  Impatience, frustration and other negative emotions are only fear.  That is not what we want.  We have a lifetime of discovery ahead of us…enjoy it.

Peace.

Kenneth
