If there’s one thing that I learned from all the personal development workshops I’ve attended & hosted, that continues to amaze me, it’s the power of self-belief. I agree that everything we have right now is with us because we believe they are possible. I would also admit, however, that believing in yourself is often easier said than done.
I know how hard it may seem to have belief in yourself, because I used to suffer from this common thought process that too ALL of us have – self-doubt and disbelief in myself. Yes, I went through many years of disbelieving myself…I didn’t think I was capable of doing great things…It was painful mentally, emotionally and a real struggle.
It was during a period of illness that, I decided it was time for a big change. I started living the law of attraction and found ways to cultivate self-belief.
Today, I would like to share with you how can start building your self belief.
These are the things you need to do if you want to start believing in your greater purpose in life.
-
Guard Your Heart
Your heart is your feeling center…your emotional guidance system. Use it to guide you. If you’re not feeling good it means your thoughts are off. That is your compass to change your thoughts. It is a powerful mechanism that we all have access to.
-
Know What You Live for
You can’t go about setting short term goals unless you know purpose. And you won’t be able to know your own purpose unless you know exactly who you are. The first thing you need to do is to determine and prioritize your life values. Know what’s important to you, what you want to achieve, and what you need to do to achieve them. By doing this, you will have clarity as to what you need instead of just what you want.
-
Train Your Belief System
You can do this by living the law of attraction and using affirmations. Your goal is to create a habit of believing in yourself. According to scientific research, you need to do something for approximately 21-30 straight days for it to become a habit. So, for the next 30 days, make sure that you include daily doses of positive thinking as often as you so you can develop a habit of self belief. Keep reminding yourself to affirm positive affirmations about yourself and your life.
-
Find a Supporter / Support System
You can’t underestimate the power of a solid support system. You need to be around good positive people, that are their to uplift you, give you confidence and are there to steer you in the right direction. It is not about surrounding yourself with Yes people, but people who are their to provide you positive reinforcement and guidance.
This will help you can feel good about yourself, too. If it means you have to attend personal development workshops, then you should do so. And if you need someone who will be there for you all the way, a life coach like me (Kenneth Todd) is going to be really helpful – yep that is my sales pitch I know but it’s true.
When we need need help with our dishwasher we pay someone. When we need help with physical appearance we hire a Fitness Instructor. When we need help with our diet we pay people and buy things. But yet when it comes to our mental, emotional and spiritual development, we don’t invest in ourselves. Change the stigma and judgement that is passed on by society and INVEST in yourself. It will change your life!.
So create that new habit of creating a new model of yourself and create a self belief template that is loving, positive, filled with confidence and trust in yourself.
Take care
Kenneth
