5 Inspirational Quotes by Dalai Lama

Hey friends, I thought I would put together this blog post and take some inspiration from the Dalai Lama with 5 Inspirational Quotes by Dalai Lama and a little bit of my take on each one…

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”

I love this quote…too often we forget about what big of an impact we can make.  We feel so small, so insignificant, but that is NOT true…No matter how small or insignificant or unheard you think you are, you can still make a difference.

Think about that tiny mosquito and what an impact he can make…So take note and make an impact in your life in a positive way.

“There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.”

Let’s face it…we all experience difficulties and pain in our lives.  It is unfortunate and a truth of life.  When it happens to us, it can be absolutely crushing, it can literally break us.  That is OK.  It is how we respond which is important.  We should use that as something to motivate us, something to make us stronger, to grow, something to make us become a better version of ourselves.

What can you use right now to make you stronger and better?

“No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster.”

If we don’t have hope we have nothing.  You have to focus on that hope, on a positive outcome. You have to want it, you have to see it, believe it and trust it.  Keep that hope alive, feed it and nurture it.

When we do, it will help us to keep moving forward in positive expectation.  It will become our fuel – Hope feeds desire and desire creates action!

“Choose to be optimistic, it feels better.”

Now this is a truth.  People sometimes say to me…“Kenneth, positive thinking doesn’t always work, why should I do it?”  Good point right?

Well let me ask you.  If you’re at point A and you’re heading to point B, but you would rather end up in the better place which is point C…Wouldn’t it be better and a more enjoyable experience to at least be happy and positive on that journey?  Even if you’re aiming to get to point C and end up at point B, isn’t it just common sense that the journey would have been better if you were positive and upbeat, rather than negative and down?

“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.”

Here is another absolute gem…How often have you really wanted something so bad and not got it.  It might have been a lover, a job, a car, a promotion or whatever and you were completely down when it didn’t happen.  However over time something else happens and you look back and think…WOW…I’m so glad that this happened instead of what I wanted previously?

We have to trust this process of life and the universe that it will deliver to us what we need, at the right time and in the right order. TRUST the process of life…it usually works out for the better.
